Paddington Concert in Japan
The classical music concert with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra was held on the 18th August at the Fuchu no Mori Geijutsu Gekijo (Fuchu Forest Arts Hall) in the western Tokyo suburb of Fuchu. It was 37 degrees and very hot however it was well attended with approximately 1,600 elementary school children attending the two-hour concert.
Since it was so hot, Paddington Bear came dressed in a Hawaiian shirt!
About 20 minutes of the 2-hour concert was set aside as 'Paddington's First Classical Music Concert'. During this segment, Paddington Bear artwork was shown on screens around the hall.

Paddington Bear was at the gate both as people came in to the concert and at the end when they left. He shook hands all around and was available for photos with all the attendees.
With the superb turnout the event was a great success.
