Paddington's Weekend with Ella Sanders

Ella Sanders attends Busy Bees nursery in Burton on Trent where they have a Paddington Bear. Every week Paddington goes home with one of the children and this is what happened when he spent the weekend with Ella:

When they arrived home from nursery Ella introduced Paddington to her Mom and Dad. They decided to have a treat for tea, so Ella and Paddington shared a savaloy and chips; they were covered in warm thick gravy. Paddington was probably much too polite to say anything but we think he would have preferred to have marmalade on his chips.

They had an early night as they were going out for an adventure the next day. Paddington slept in Ella’s bed and she cuddled him for most of the night. We think Paddington probably kept his Wellington boots on, so we hope she didn’t find it too uncomfortable!

The following day Ella's Daddy took them to Marketon Park to see the ducks. There were lots of them and they were very hungry. Paddington noticed them eyeing up his marmalade sandwiches so he was very relieved to discover that Ella’s Daddy had remembered to take along some bread to feed them.

After that there was time to visit the playground. Bears are good at climbing so Paddington really enjoyed himself. He wasn’t too sure about the slide but Ella held onto him nice and tight so he felt quite safe. Paddington was pleased he kept his duffle coat on though, as it turned out that the slide was rather wet and it stopped his fur from getting all soggy.

Finally they enjoyed a game of hide and seek before they went back to Ella’s house.

It looks as though Paddington enjoyed riding on her rocking horse, although we hope they had sense to do that before they tucked into a large tea!

Paddington had such a good time that he wished he could have stayed longer but we’re sure he was really looking forward to meeting the family he went to stay with the following weekend.
