Marmalade Festival 2010

  • WHEN: Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th February
  • WHERE: Penrith, Cumbria, UK

Paddington, who is well known for his love of marmalade, is the patron of The World's Original Marmalade Festival.

This year anyone can enter to win the prestigious Grand Prix of Marmalade, so long as you've made the marmalade yourself. All the judging is carefully monitored by The Cumbria-Cumberland Federation of Women's Institutes, so it's the perfect opportunity to find out how your best entry compares to others from all around the world. For more information on how to enter please visit the official Marmalade Festival website.

  • Over 5,000 people are expected to attend the festival over the course of the weekend.
  • Celebrities, chefs and luminaries from across the nation will be judging the intense competition to win the title of best marmalade in the world. With 10 different categories, some will also be competing for Paddington’s prestigious sticky paw award!
  • There will be shopping opportunities for the adults and entertainment for the children.
  • Marmalade ice-cream will be on sale - a unique refreshment in a Cumbrian February!
  • The house and gardens will, of course, be open.
