"The Life and Times of Paddington Bear"
On Friday 26th March, Michael Bond returned to his home town for the official launch of an exhibition, "The Life and Times of Paddington Bear", at the Museum of Reading. He was joined by a small group of local school children who had won a competition to be there.
It tells the story of Michael Bond's early life and how he first started to write stories about a bear from Darkest Peru through to Paddington's worldwide success.
On display are items including Michael Bond's typewriter, original artwork, one of the puppets used in the first television series and some of the earlier Paddington products.
The exhibition will run until 7th July and during that time there will be a number of themed activities.
